20 years of innovation: The feratel development center in Sofia is celebrating its anniversary

The group management was already convinced 20 years ago: “Bulgaria has some of the best software specialists in the world.” This assessment has been confirmed to this day. The development team in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, led by Nikolay Rangelov and Bernhard Taurer and supported by the “mastermind” Daniel Heinecke, continues to be a central pillar of the international success of feratel media technologies AG.

Since its founding, the “feratel development center Sofia” has grown continuously and now employs 16 experts. Half of the team has been with the company for over 15 years and is sometimes a guarantee for the internal exchange of knowledge. Ultimately, the Bulgarian team laid the technical foundation for the Deskline system as we know it today and has continued to develop it ever since. The result is a comprehensive destination management system with numerous additional solutions that is unique on the market.

Today, the focus of development is on the integration of artificial intelligence, the expansion of performance monitoring, various measures to increase bookings and adapting the system to current legal requirements. At the same time, the next big milestone is being implemented: During ongoing operations, the entire system is being converted to a modern API/microservice architecture in the background. This innovative step forms the basis for Deskline to sustainably support the success of our customers in the long term as a modern, web-based solution.

Since it was founded over 20 years ago, the Sofia branch has been an indispensable part of feratel's success story. Two decades of outstanding achievements and tireless commitment deserve the highest recognition.
