In the recently published guide for hoteliers by SiteMinder, one of the world's leading platforms for customer acquisition in the hotel industry, feratel makes it into the top 12 most important booking channels for Austria and Germany.
feratel makes it into the top 12 booking channels that generate the most booking revenue for lodging businesses in 2020 in Germany and Austria. For the Austrian market, feratel is even given the rating "one to watch" as feratel has been able to grow steadily in recent years, showing great strength during a time of international travel restrictions and is expected to continue to grow.
"Last year, we observed a decline in international guests in Germany and, as a result, a greater relevance of local and regional players such as Kurzurlaub.de and feratel. Travel behavior has changed. It is therefore critical that hoteliers carefully check how and where they sell their rooms and ensure they are using the distribution channels - global and local, direct and indirect - that are proven to be effective in securing reservations and revenue", said Clemens Fisch, Regional Director DACH & EMEA of SiteMinder.
In its latest guide for hoteliers, SiteMinder looks into distribution channels in more than 20 travel countries. Analysis of the data obtained shows that consumers relied on a broader range of booking options last year and direct bookings increased significantly. However, hotel bookings overall have fallen to below ten percent of the previous year's level due to the COVID-19 situation.
